PReS-FINAL-2077: Lung function evaluation in a juvenile idiopathic arthritis cohort
نویسندگان
چکیده
Introduction Juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA) is the most common rheumatologic disorder of childhood. It is a group of diseases characterized by chronic synovitis, associated with many extra-articular manifestations including pulmonary involvement, usually in the systemic type. Alterations of pulmonary function in JIA may be a complication of the underlying disease or related to treatment with methotrexate. Numerous reports have documented the association of rheumatoid arthritis and pulmonary abnormalities. Also, methotrexate may cause severe adverse pulmonary sideeffects in adults with rheumatoid arthritis. While respiratory function in adults with rheumatoid arthritis has been extensively investigated, few studies have been carried out in JIA children.

Introduction Juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA) is the most common chronic pediatric rheumatic disease, affecting 4 of every 1,000 children worldwide. It may cause joint damage, persistent pain and retardation of normal growth, which eventually may lead to long-term disability and decreased quality of life. Treatment aims disease control and induction of remission, preventing joint damage and ...
متن کاملPReS-FINAL-2097: Evaluation of gait in children with juvenile idiopathic arthritis
Introduction Juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA) causes pain that may lead to posture and movement modifications and arouses muscular imbalance with reduced range of motion in the affected joints. Clinical assessment of the gait is difficult in children, because of the complexity and rapidity of movement. In children with JIA, the gait pattern is further complicated by subtle compensatory gait ...

Introduction Assessment of disease activity is a fundamental component of the clinical evaluation of children with juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA) because persistently active disease plays a major role in causing joint damage and physical functional disability. Furthermore, measurement of the level of disease activity over time is important in monitoring the disease course and in assessing ...
